A very nice German Wallclock with hour and half hour strike on gong.The clock has an enamel dial with roman numerals in very good condition with black hands.

Details: This German wallclock was manufactured by the Uhrenfabrik Villingen Maurer Pfaff and Maier clock company and has the famous three star mark on its movement.
The three star sign trademark on the movement, is the well-known mark of first, Mauer, Pfaff and Maier .They were located in Villingen, on the then Baden side of the Black Forest.
It was then the mark of the Uhrenfabrik Villingen AG with a branch factory in Niedereschach.
Later, it was the trademark of Peter-Uhren GmbH, Peter made everything from alarm clocks to longcase clocks.
The Uhrenfabrik Villingen AG was founded in 1899 from what was the Uhrenfabrik Villingen Maurer, Pfaff & Maier (which was itself founded from earlier firms in 1895); the Uhrenfabrik Villingen AG went bankrupt in 1914; part of Uhrenfabrik Villingen AG went to Josef Kaiser; part of Uhrenfabrik Villingen AG (in Niedereschach) went to Andreas Peter; Peter used the Uhrenfabrik Villingen AG 3-star mark; Peter went bankrupt in 1996.
