A John Fisher mahogany longcase clock with swan neck pediment circa 1840.

Details: John fisher is recorded as working in Bilston near Birmingham from 1842 - 1850.
This delicately painted break arch dial is decorated with country scenes to the arch and spandrels.The dial centre is complete with roman numerals , a subsidiary seconds dial , twin winding holes , a semi circular date aperture and the makers name John Fisher below.
Original 8 day duration movement with turned pillars and rack striking sounding the hours on a bell.
The overall appearance of the case with its embellishment of various veneer inlays , crossbands etc is very typical of English provencial 1830's : By contrast london made clocks of that period are narrower and more plain with far less elaborate decoration.
The clock is fully restored and will be delivered and set up anywhere in Ireland and includes 24 months warranty
